Dear All,

Thank-you so much for all the beautiful flowers, cards and good wishes over the past few weeks. I can’t tell you how much I’ve appreciated your kind gestures, they really have been a welcome tonic.

The stuffed peppers and salad went down well too (you’ll have to ask the ladies about that one !)

My operation was straightforward and the doctors’ seem happy with my progress so far. My husband is less happy, as he’s having to do all the housework and cooking. Still, you can’t please everyone all of the time !

I very much look forward to seeing you all again, although I understand that Terry, Nat and Dorian have been more than capable understudies.

I’ve been genuinely touched by your support during what has been a bit of a tricky time for me, so thank-you again, you have made things much more bearable.

See you soon,

Lots of love,

Caryl (the bossy one)

P.S. My Dad is doing well too; between us, we’re giving the NHS a good run for their money !
